Nokia Sports Tracker
Well I'm not the world's most physical guy... but I do like a bit of fresh air and exercise. I also like my mobile phones and particularly my Nokia N95 which has being going strong for 18 months or so. It's only in the last few months that I have been getting better use out of it as some interesting apps have become available.
The latest one I have been using is Nokia's Sports Tracker. Check it out here: http://sportstracker.nokia.com. I like it!
The site clearly stipulates that it is in beta, and there are a few bugs, particularly when using it on the handset, but certainly no more than what you often see in software that you have to pay for! Enjoy!

A rough guide to creating PDFs
Cost effective options for creating PDF docs
I have posted the following, as I was asked by someone to look at cost effective pdf solutions. Please note that none of the suggested websites are endorsed by me in any way, but are offered as a suggestion of the types of solutions available.
A rough guide to creating PDFs
A rough guide to the three levels of PDF solutions. Please note that whichever model you choose this will PDF the document before a wet signature, which is good for drafts etc. If you want to email a doc with a signature you can scan a signature and insert it in the word doc before converting to PDF.
Option 1
The online solution.
This is quick, easy, and free. It’s like getting the bus and not paying. You simply go to the website and upload the document and a couple of minutes later (usually 30 secs) it is emailed to you. You can actually wait on the website and it will be presented there in half the time and you just download it. I use this all the time for converting invoices and excel files into PDFs, and I have no issue. There may be some security exposure, but it is all about assessing the level of risk and consequence.

Option 2
The freeware / shareware solution.
This is free, or nearly free. It’s like borrowing a cheap car of a family member indefinitely. Just beware of charging models akin to subscriptions that you might not discover until after you have downloaded and used for 14 days – not all software providers are up-front about the model. But it is a client-installed solution, i.e. you download it and put it on your computer. Security risk / exposure is low-to-minimum. To use it should be as simple as printing a document: instead of selecting your HP5000 printer you select PDF generator (or whatever) and it saves your file. You can then email it or print it s you see fit.
The hassle factor or risk here is if you have problems installing it or if it breaks something else, or if you need to remove it cleanly. Likelihood is low. Functionality will be basic, but probably more than you use / would use for the purposes of your business.

Option 3
The fully supported licensed model.
This is the executive saloon – feature rich, comes with full professional support, and even some complexity. You may have to pay for each PC you load it onto, so don’t be fooled by the single users costs. Multi-user offers usually kick in at five user licences. Often in this case you are paying for a lot more than you ever need. It the great scheme of things it is not a lot of money (half of what I will be paying you will cover the most expensive option) but do you really need it all? And if it goes wrong, the guy on the end of the phone in Mumbai may not be able to help you!

There you go, if anyone has any alternatives or improved suggestion i would love to hear about them!
Cheers!
